Light Rail: a business card sized model train layout
have you ever wanted to pull an entire, functional model railroad layout from your pocket while waiting at the DMV?
The LIGHT RAIL is one of the Doomscrolling Preventer series, a fidget device with NO internet connectivity, NO app, and NO screen time.
The device runs a full-physics simulation of an engine and 3 carriages, which can be coupled and decoupled using the Coupler switches, and the four track branches can be switched as well. The knob controls the speed and direction of the engine. There's a tunnel through a mountain because there HAS to be.
Double-clicking or holding one of the buttons will enter one of the four Game modes:
-Curling has you smacking the engine into a series of cars, trying to get each one to settle on the target
-Puzzle Mode will request a certain order of the engine and cars, requiring you to shunt them around to the correct order
-Bomb Cart has the engine chased by a timed bomb. Switch tracks and control speed to avoid it. Each round adds a car to the train
-Trolley Problem is the philosphical conundrum, but now as a fidget toy. The trolley explodes if it runs someone over, too.
3 AAA bateries will happily run this for 17 hours

(yeah, t's called light rail because it's a rail layout but it's made of light do you get it)
